Cantel (UK) Limited recently donated a large quantity of Mediwrap® Thermal Wraps to the Community Development and Transformation Team at Southend Borough Council.
The Community Development Team supports local projects and organisations who provide emergency and crisis support packages. The Thermal Wraps will be distributed within their food and care packages to local families experiencing financial and housing challenges.
The Thermal Wraps have also been distributed to the Shoeburyness Salvation Army and will provide essential family support within children’s centres, community hubs, as part of the family’s programme, and via housing teams offering homeless assistance. The ‘Achievement Through Football’ and ‘Get The Kids Out’ programmes within the community hubs offer free food and sporting activities throughout the year. The Mediwrap® Thermal Wraps will provide the families with additional support in outdoor spaces, as all families engaged with the programme are experiencing financial difficulties.
As part of social care support, they also work closely with safeguarding teams responsible for immediate safety for families fleeing domestic violence or refugee provision. The Thermal Wraps will also support families living with fuel poverty related to low income, covid impact and for those who have experienced job loss or eviction.
Maxine Nutkins the Community Engagement Manager at Southend Borough Council commented “Thank you for the recent opportunity to collect the Thermal Wraps. We would like to express our appreciation for the support of local organisations who assist us with donations and support which enables us to provide localised assistance. This donation will generate more opportunities to support our community partners.”
